Rule of Law Initiative Granted Observer Status at European Commission for Efficiency of Justice

The Rule of Law Initiative is pleased to announce that it was recently granted observer status at the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ). The CEPEJ, a body of the Council of Europe, works to improve the efficiency of the justice system in Member States by preparing benchmarks, collecting and analyzing data, defining instruments of measure and means of evaluation, and developing reports, guidelines and action plans. As an observer to the CEPEJ, the Rule of Law Initiative joins key legal reform actors, including the World Bank, the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe, and the European Association of Judges. The Rule of Law Initiative's observer status with CEPEJ will facilitate increased sharing of information and research, as well as collaboration on judicial reform analysis and activities.
