Dan Andresen

Director, ABA Security

Dan is the Director of ABA Security and DC Operations. He is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and appropriate controls and protection of human, property, and fiscal assets on both a domestic and international basis. Dan was recently named the Association's Director of DC Operations. In that capacity he works to ensure operations within the DC office run efficiently and effectively. He oversees facilities, mailroom, reception and in-house meetings and he collaborates with property management to address issues/concerns within our space. Dan also actively manages the D.C. Operations budgets. Prior to joining the ABA, Dan worked for International SOS and Control Risks where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of security consulting and operational engagements across Latin America. Daniel began working at International SOS in 2005 as the Security Operations Manager for the Americas based in Philadelphia. In 2009, Dan relocated to Dubai where he was the Regional Security Manager for the Middle East and Africa. In October 2011, he was promoted to Security Director, Southern Africa based in South Africa. Dan has an extensive background in the management of critical incidents and has led incident management and crisis management teams responding to natural disasters, political unrest, terrorist attacks and reputational issues. He has led numerous international security evacuations of people from Guinea, Kenya, Niger, Bahrain and Egypt. Prior to joining International SOS, Daniel worked for Ernst & Young, LLP where he developed, implemented and managed the firm's travel security and executive protection programs. Daniel also worked as a security contractor for the Department of State, where he provided security at the residence of the Secretary of State, and later The Blair House which is utilized by official guest of the President of the United States. Daniel spent 6 years in the United States Marine Corps, serving both as a Military Policeman and a Marine Security Guard (MSG) in operational and embassy deployments in Haiti, Syria and Spain.
