JohnGates Sharp

Program Associate

JohnGates joined the Research, Evaluation, and Learning team in 2018 and provides programmatic support for ABA ROLI's International Justice Sector Education and Training, Criminal Justice Collaboration and Partnership, and Global Perceptions of Gender and Online Violence Programs. In this capacity, he has supported program participants from Central Asia, the Balkans, Armenia, and the Philippines. His duties include arranging all logistics for month-long fellowship programs, liaising with US and foreign government officials, assisting in proposal development and budgeting, and conducting procurement and contracting. In his previous position from 2017–18, JohnGates provided administrative support to all ABA ROLI Middle East and North Africa Division programs. JohnGates holds a B.A. in Spanish and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. Prior to working at ABA ROLI JohnGates worked as an Acquisitions Specialist at Georgetown University and as an Account Manager at Mack Sumner Communications (now Delivers Strategies). He is also proficient in Spanish.
