Stephanie Villaronga

Program Director – Colombia & Peru

Stephanie Villaronga joined the ABA Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) on March 25, 2019, as a Senior Technical Advisor for the Latin America and the Caribbean Division. She now serves as the Program Director for Colombia & Peru. She is an attorney with extensive experience working on U.S. foreign assistance programs in Latin America and Africa. Before joining the ABA ROLI, she served as the Foreign Assistance Coordinator for the Department of State in Panama, overseeing programs under the Central American Regional Security Initiative, which focused on key U.S. foreign policy objectives, including improving governance and security. Stephanie also served as the Bilateral Health Policy Specialist for the State Department in Botswana, reporting on the PEPFAR initiatives in the country and supporting the strategy and policy initiatives of U.S. agencies overseeing PEPFAR programs and other health projects funded by the State Department. She has also worked as a contract specialist for USAID in Colombia. Stephanie is a former member of the Anti-Money Laundering group at the law firm of Schulte, Roth & Zabel LLP, and has work experience on an array of legal issues both in the United States and abroad, including in the fields of international financial crime, international contracts and acquisitions, and public health legislation.
