Olivia Sykes joined ABA ROLI as a Program Associate in October 2020. Throughout Olivia’s academic career she worked and interned in a variety of fields including immigrant support and advocacy for survivors of human trafficking and prevention and awareness of gender-based violence. She dedicated part of her college career to research while studying 21st century policing, particularly focusing on the experiences of Black and Latinx adolescents. In 2019 Olivia spent a semester studying Spanish and U.S. Cuba relations at the University of Havana in Havana, Cuba. Olivia is fluent in Spanish and graduated in the Spring of 2020 from the University of Connecticut with degrees in Urban and Community Studies and Human Rights, as well as a minor in Spanish.
