Robert Summers-Berger, Program Associate, joined the ABA ROLI’s Latin America and the Caribbean Division in January of 2023. Prior to joining ROLI, he worked at the lobbying firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck where he performed policy research and legislative tracking for the firm’s clients in South Korea, Pakistan, and Arabian Gulf States. Before that, Robert interned at El Instituto Monteverde in Costa Rica, where he crafted social media content to raise awareness about the institute’s conservation and reforestation efforts. Robert also worked at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) where he developed multilingual training modules for young activists and organizers in Latin America. Robert got a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Politics at Carnegie Mellon University. During his studies, he wrote extensively about border security, Mexican literature, and the role of religion in political violence. He speaks English and Spanish.
