Zlata Unerkova, Program Manager, manages ABA ROLI’s Eastern Europe portfolio after re-joining ABA ROLI in September 2020. She has over eight years of progressive work experience in international development and justice sector reform in Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, Central America and the Eastern Caribbean. Most recently, she served as a Program Manager with the National Center for State Courts where she managed both USG and non-USG funded programming. From 2013-2018, Zlata worked on the ABA ROLI’s Balkans portfolio where she leveraged her past field experience working on good governance and democratic capacity building in the Balkans. She graduated summa cum laude with honors in government from St. Lawrence University and holds a Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law. She speaks Macedonian, English, Spanish, Bosnian, and Serbian.
