Matt Tappert, Senior Program Officer, has experience in parliamentary strengthening and civil society advocacy in the Central Asia region. Prior to joining ABA ROLI in February 2021, he worked in the DC office of the International Republican Institute and as a Resident Program Officer of the USAID/DFID Kyrgyzstan Parliamentary Strengthening Program implemented by DAI in Bishkek. He holds a M.A. degree in Nationalism Studies from the Central European University in Budapest, where the curriculum touched on a variety of human rights and legal issues. Mr. Tappert is currently working on the Vietnam and broader Southeast Asian portfolio, including programs to address money laundering, criminal trial advocacy, and access to legal services for victims of human trafficking.
