Ben Kabagambe, Country Director, Central African Republic

Ben Kabagambe, Country Director, Central African Republic, joined ABA ROLI in December 2016 and oversees the implementation of access to justice and judicial accountability programs, including support to ABA ROLI's network of legal aid clinics, attorneys, and psychosocial workers. Kabagambe has extensive experience in the protection of human rights and access to justice. Prior to joining ABA ROLI he worked with Minority Rights Group International (MRG) as a Regional Legal Officer for the Eastern and the Central African region, as well as with Avocats Sans Frontieres (ASF) in Rwanda where he supervised access to justice activities, and in Chad as Country Coordinator working to improve access to justice in collaboration with local civil society organizations. He also worked as a Regional Program Officer for Protection International in a program aiming to protect the rights of Human Rights Defenders in the East and the Horn of Africa. He holds a law degree from the Universite Lumiere de Bujumbura, Burundi.
