The ABA Priorities Survey is now live! This is your opportunity to ensure the issues that matter most to you and your section are at the forefront of the ABA’s legislative advocacy for the 119th Congress.
Click here to take the survey.
Every two years, the ABA asks its members to weigh in on the most pressing issues impacting the legal profession, the justice system, and society at large. Your input will directly influence the association’s priorities on Capitol Hill and with the Executive Branch, helping to shape the legal landscape for the next two years.
Through this quick 10-minute survey, you can:
- Rank Existing Priorities: Ensure continued focus on critical issues such as access to justice, judicial independence, and criminal justice reform.
- Highlight Emerging Topics: Bring new challenges to light, like AI regulation.
- Guide Resource Allocation: Elevate the priorities of your section, entity, or group to help secure the advocacy and resources they need.
Member input has been vital in the selection of priorities. The ABA Board of Governors uses member feedback to determine the association’s legislative and governmental priorities for each Congress, along with other criteria such as timeliness, opportunity for impact, and alignment with ABA expertise. Focusing advocacy efforts on designated priorities has enabled the ABA to achieve notable successes, such as securing additional funding for the Legal Services Corporation, enacting critical judicial security measures, and securing significant reforms in criminal and immigration law.
This is your chance to steer the ABA’s advocacy efforts and ensure that your voice—and the voice of your section—is heard. Don’t miss this opportunity to shape the issues that the ABA champions before Congress and the Executive Branch.
The survey will remain open until December 13, 2024.
