Hundreds of participants gathered in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 1-2 for the 28th Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law. Hosted by the ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security, the conference included panels covering numerous national security topics. One of the panels, “SCOTUS, GTMO, the FISC and More: The Role of the Courts in Shaping National Security Law,” was moderated by William Banks (as left), Board of Advisers distinguished professor of law and professor of public administration and international affairs emeritus, Syracuse University, and included (from left): Amy Jeffress, a partner at Arnold & Porter; Mary McCord, visiting professor of law and senior litigator from the Practice Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, Georgetown University Law Center; and Judge Reggie Walton, senior judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
