    ABA Day 2021: Advocacy for Justice

    This year marks the 25th annual ABA Day. On April 20 and 21, the ABA Governmental Affairs Office (GAO) looks forward to hosting thousands of bar leaders, attorneys, and law students as they connect with their Members of Congress.

    Advocate of the Month

    We are proud to highlight Jennifer Sherman as the ABA Advocate of the Month for March 2021. Jennifer Sherman is a 2L at UC Berkeley, School of Law and serves as the Delegate for Communications, Publications, and Outreach on the ABA Law Student Division Council. In this role, Jennifer keeps law students in the loop about things happening around the ABA, represents law students in the House of Delegates, as well as the ABA Day Planning Committee. Most recently, the Law Student Division sponsored and passed a resolution urging bar admission authority in each jurisdiction to allow test-takers to bring menstrual products in opaque rather than clear containers, and recommends relaxing other restrictions now in place. Outside of the ABA, Jennifer engages in pro bono work to prevent gun violence.

    About the Washington Letter

    The ABA Washington Letter is a monthly publication produced by the Governmental Affairs Office to report and analyze congressional and executive branch action on legislative issues of interest to the ABA and the legal profession. The newsletter highlights ABA involvement in the federal legislative process and focuses on the association's legislative and governmental priorities and other issues on which the ABA has policy.
