Annual Review of the Field

Top national security experts convened Dec. 2-3 in Washington, D.C., for the 21st Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law, cosponsored by the ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security. Standing Committee Chair Harvey Rishikof (at podium) moderated a panel providing an executive branch update. Those appearing were (from left): Jeh Charles Johnson, general counsel,  Department of Defense; Lisa Monaco, assistant attorney general for national security, Department of Justice; Stephen W. Preston, general counsel, Central Intelligence Agency; Robert S. Litt, general counsel, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; and Ivan K. Fong, general counsel, Department  of Homeland Security. Other cosponsors of the event were: the Center for National Security Law; University of Virginia School of Law; the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security, Duke University School of Law; and the Center on National Security and the Law, Georgetown University.
