Contact Congress Directly
93% of congressional offices said a personal email from a constituent has some or a lot of influence on their policy decisions, according to a survey taken by the Congressional Management Foundation. That's even higher than a visit from a lobbyist! Use our email portal to send one of the following messages directly to your elected officials that is guaranteed to make it through congressional firewalls -- without ever having to leave our site.
Primary Issue #1
Support The Attorney-Client Privilege
The attorney-client privilege is vital for attorneys to lend effective assistance of counsel, but federal inmates are forced to accept a notice that they will allow all their emails to be monitored, including from their attorney, when they access the email system. Tell Congress that the attorney-client privilege is a constitutional right, and legislation is needed to correct this oversight immediately.
Primary Issue #2
Fund The Legal Services Corporation
Tell Congress to fully fund the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). LSC is an independent nonprofit established by Congress in 1974 to provide financial support for civil legal aid to low-income Americans. LSC promotes equal access to justice by providing funding to 133 independent non-profit legal aid programs in every state. LSC grantees serve thousands of low-income individuals, children, families, seniors, and veterans in 813 offices in every congressional district.
Primary Issue #3
Extend Student Debt Relief
With the average law student graduating with over $100K in debt, and 65% saying they suffer from "overwhelming stress" because of it, we can't afford to let a federal relief package not include graduate students. Use this tool to tell Congress that law school graduates need help to reduce this burden and to provide practical resources for debt management.

Alternate Issue #1
Improve Judicial Security
The Judicial Conference of the United States, the Judiciary's policy-making body, recently reiterated its request to Congress for the enactment of legislation to improve judicial and courthouse security. It also requested 79 new judgeships. Tell Congress that judges should not have to live in fear while upholding the rule of law.
Alternate Issue #2
Establish Independent Article I Immigration Courts
The immigration courts are housed in the Department of Justice and immigration judges are attorney-employees of the department, hired by the Attorney General. Immigration judges do not control their own dockets, cases may be reassigned, and judges may be relocated by DOJ. The Attorney General has the authority to refer pending removal cases to him/herself for adjudication and can issue precedential decisions. H.R. 6577 would establish an independent Article I court for immigration removal adjudications.
Alternative Issue #3
Fund VAWA Programs
The Violence Against Women Act is one of the pillars of the government’s response to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. First signed into law in 1994, this landmark legislation authorizes several grant programs to provide services to survivors and training to improve the legal response to gender-based violence. Congress passed VAWA reauthorization after agreeing to include it in the FY 2022 omnibus spending bill and the President signed it into law on March 15. Thank your Congressional leaders for reauthorizing this important legislation – and urge them to support full funding for VAWA programs during the upcoming FY 2023 appropriations cycle to assure access to services for survivors.
