Mihaela Vidaicu, Country Director, joined ABA ROLI in 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in criminal law from Moldova State University. Prior to joining ABA ROLI, she was selected by the Public Interest Law Institute (currently the Global Network for Public Interest Law) as local coordinator for a two-year project on Promoting Sustainable Reforms in Higher Legal Education at Moldova State University. She also coordinated the activity of the English Department within the Law Faculty and assisted American law professors on Fulbright program in Moldova. Vidaicu completed the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Fellowship Program implemented by the Curriculum Resource Center of the Central European University (Budapest). Vidaicu assisted the International Commission of Jurists mission to assess the factors impeding the effective functioning of the judiciary, in particular disciplinary rules and mechanisms of enforcement for judicial misconduct, and was involved in the OSCE/ODIHR project on prosecution office reform. Since 2003, she has been teaching course on criminal law, European criminal law and sentencing policies at Moldova State University.
