As the Communications Director for the American Bar Association Center for Global Programs (ABA CGP), Mitty oversees communications for ABA CGP’s three entities, which includes the Center for Human Rights, the Rule of Law Initiative, and the Representatives and Observers to the United Nations. 

Mitty brings nearly 20 years of communications experience in international development contexts focused on strategy, stakeholder relations, outreach, engagement, campaigns, website development, and events. Prior to joining the ABA, she worked at the World Bank Group in Washington, DC, in various communication roles across diverse sectors, including digital identification, infrastructure, private sector development, North American affairs, and, most recently, governance in Europe and Central Asia. She has also led communications for the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), the nation’s central bank, in Phnom Penh. 

Mitty’s interests include the intersection of communications, international development, human rights, and justice. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science & communications from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on conflict resolution and anthropology from George Mason University.
