Juan Manuel Olvera Mendez, Country Director, Mexico, joined ABA ROLI in January 2014. Olvera holds a Master of Laws in Advocacy (LLM) from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles a Law degree from the University of Guanajuato in Mexico. Olvera pioneered the curricula for oral litigation techniques and alternative dispute resolution at the University of Guanajuato. He has also served as the academic advisor for first-place teams at state, regional, and national level university mock trial competitions. In addition to academia, Olvera has been a legal consultant for legal institutions and law schools in Mexico. He has also served as a trainer in oral litigation techniques and family and commercial hearings for judges of the federal judicial branch of Mexico. He is a trainer certified by the Coordinating Council for the Implementation of Mexico's Criminal Justice System (SETEC). Olvera also has certifications in Oral Litigation Techniques and Instructional Training from the U.S. National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
