Sarah Kerwegi is a lawyer and rule of law practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in advocacy, policy analysis, institutional capacity building, civil society capacity strengthening, program development and management, and institutional governance. Sarah joined ABA ROLI as a Program Director in Ethiopia where she worked closely with the African Union Commission to develop internal capacities in the rule of law, transitional justice, and administrative justice areas. She previously worked in various capacities with Oxfam NOVIB, International Alert, the Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA Uganda) and Hanze University Groningen. Sarah has extensive programming experience in human rights, gender mainstreaming, humanitarian policy advocacy and conflict sensitivity experience, she also has justice sector and international criminal law experience. She served as a Senior State Attorney with Uganda’s Directorate of Public Prosecutions working extensively in the Uganda’s criminal justice sector. She is currently on the list of counsel for the International Criminal Court.
