Azamat Kerimbaev

Country Director for Kyrgyzstan

Mr. Kerimbaev is the current COP/Country Director for ABA ROLI in Kyrgyzstan. He has worked with ABA ROLI in multiple capacities since May 1999, and assumed the position of COP/Country Director in 2009. In his current role, he is responsible for the management of the field office in Bishkek and expatriate and local staff charged with coordinating criminal justice reform (bar development) activities throughout the country. During his 19-year tenure with ABA ROLI, Mr. Kerimbaev has been involved in implementation and management of a variety of international rule of law development projects funded by both U.S. Government and international donors. Prior to joining ABA ROLI, Mr. Kerimbaev served as a diplomat with the Kyrgyz Embassy to the USA and Canada and the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A native of Bishkek, Mr. Kerimbaev holds a law degree from the Kyrgyz State University and a degree in international relations from the Kyrgyz Diplomatic Academy.
