Andres Borjas

Andres Borjas is a Program Associate in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) division at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative. Previously, he worked as a Senior Project Assistant at the Strategic Capacity Group (SCG), where he supported a LAC-focused portfolio of justice system capacity-building and security sector reform projects primarily funded by the United States (US) Department of State. During his time at SCG, Andres worked under both the Program Management and Monitoring and Evaluation divisions, which exposed him to various programmatic activities, ranging from logistics services and partner engagement to the collecting, coding, and analyzing project data for reporting. At SCG, Andres got the opportunity to deploy across the Caribbean, organizing training workshops for national forensic agencies and regional legal professionals. He has also held intern roles at the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, the Organization of American States, the US Department of Commerce, and the Mexican Secretariat of Economy. Andres holds a double Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations and Political Science from Tufts University. He is fluent in English and Spanish
