Kori Bartko joined the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative’s Africa Division in July 2024. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Loyola University, New Orleans – with interests in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and African politics. She drew on her studies to complete her undergraduate thesis titled Sports as Catalysts for Unity and Reconciliation During Apartheid and in Post-Apartheid South Africa.
Kori brings professional experience from her time working in the research department of the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), where she published fact sheets and created country profiles. Kori has also worked for Princeton in Africa (PiAf), where she monitored security-related data, collaborated on PiAf’s 2023-2024 Annual Report, and organized a programming panel.
