As Chief Operating Officer of Global Programs, Daniel Andresen is responsible for providing leadership, management, and vision for the operations of the organization.  He brings more than 24 years of experience to the ABA.  His experience and leadership have focused on ensuring global programs have proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems in place to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.  Daniel also serves as the ABA’s Director of DC Operations.

Prior to joining the American Bar Association in 2015, Daniel was the Regional Security Director for International SOS, an international medical and security assistance provider.  Responsible for over $30 million in revenue across North, Central, and South America, he led International SOS’ efforts to deliver best-in-class security assistance, consulting, and information and analysis services to hundreds of Fortune 500 clients.  Daniel also served as Director- Southern Africa, Regional Security Manager- MEA, and Security Operations and Security Services Manager for the Americas.

In addition to serving 10 years at International SOS, Daniel served as Security Manager at Ernst & Young, LLP (currently EY) from 2003-2005, he was a security officer for the U.S. State Department from 1999-2000.  He also served for six years as a military policeman and Marine Security Guard with the United States Marine Corps.

Daniel has a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University, a Master of Science in Law from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech.
