Through almost a decade of work in partnership with the Libyan legal community, ministries, bar associations, and civil society, ABA ROLI remains a leading advocate for the rule of law and human rights in Libya. With support from the US and Swedish Governments, ABA ROLI has implemented impactful justice and legal sector initiatives to foster rule of law development; address human rights concerns for marginalized communities such as women, migrants, and religious and ethnic minorities; and promote human-rights focused capacity-building for lawyers, judges, and other members of the Libyan judicial sector more broadly. ABA ROLI’s partners in Libya include the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), the Libyan Bar Association (LBA), the Young Lawyers Association (YLA), and civil society organizations (CSOs) throughout the country.
