Background
Located along the northern coast of South America, Venezuela has faced a political, economic, and environmental crisis for the past couple of decades. Beginning in late 2022, ABA ROLI began a regional program to stem the violence against environmental defenders (EDs) and civil society organizations that support the work of EDs in the Amazon Region, including Venezuela.
