Background
In Albania, located in the Balkan Peninsula of Eastern Europe, the ABA began working in the country in 1991 and placed its first rule of law liaison in Tirana in 1992. Throughout the years, ABA ROLI’s work included criminal law reform, anti-corruption efforts, and legal education.
