From 2018-2022, the ABA ROLI worked in Ethiopia on a program aimed at strengthening the capacity of the African Union with emphasis on advancing its rule of law mission and mandate in the region.
Key accomplishments under this project:
ABA ROLI organized a variety of trainings for African Union staff on topics such as Legal drafting, Privileges and immunities, International humanitarian law, Trial advocacy and litigation, Judgement drafting, Transitional justice, and Employment law.
ABA ROLI organized a virtual symposium that brought together members from the African Court of Human and People’s Rights, the European Human Rights Court, the Inter-American Court, and Economic Community of West African States.
