From 2018-2020, the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) and the Wildlife Conservation Society implemented the Combatting Wildlife Trafficking program in Vietnam. During the program, ABA ROLI conducted four training courses in the northern and southern regions of Vietnam with 121 judicial officials on anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and combating wildlife trafficking. In November 2019, ABA ROLI partnered with the Supreme People’s Court to train over 50 judges in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, court officials, and prosecutors to strengthen the prosecution and sentencing of wildlife trafficking-related corruption crimes. The program was funded by the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Agency.
