On July 5, 2023, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines National for Center Legal Aid (IBP NCLA) conducted the IBP NCLA’s Summit at the Manila Prince Hotel. It aimed to identify the NCLA’s developments, plans and seeks collaboration from its Chapters in monitoring and assessing the legal aid services being provided. IBP NCLA introduced its newly appointed officers and deputy Directors, reported NCLA programs, projects and accomplishments that have towards their goal in providing pro bono legal services.
In this summit, the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), led by Deputy Chief of Party Atty. Liezl Z. Parajas, presented to the new chapter presidents the IBP Pro Bono Portal (IBP PBP). The PBP was developed in partnership with Justice Connect of Australia under ABA ROLI’s “Access to Justice and Support for the Rule of Law” (ACCESS), supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The IBP PBP is the first web-based legal service platform of the national bar that offers a cost-efficient, reliable and secured medium for both pro bono legal aid lawyers and Filipinos qualified to receive free legal assistance.
