ABA ROLI was saddened to learn of the passing of Jefferson County, Kentucky, Commonwealth Attorney Tom Wine on May 6, 2023. While most of the world remembers Tom for his long career in public service, including as an assistant attorney general, prosecutor, trial judge, and appellate judge, ABA ROLI remembers him best as a dedicated mentor in ABA ROLI's Criminal Justice Collaboration and Partnership Program.

From 2018-2022, Tom, along with two colleagues from criminal justice agencies in Kentucky, mentored a group of six Armenian judges, prosecutors, investigators, and public defenders who were working on pretrial detention reform. Tom is pictured here in Yerevan in 2022 with colleagues and mentees. ABA ROLI is grateful for his contributions to promote the rule of law and will miss him deeply.
