“VIVA LAS VEGAS” which is Latin for “Come to the 2012 Annual Meeting on April 26-28, 2012 for Advanced Project Delivery: Improving the Odds of Success.”
The annual meeting will be held at the beautiful Bellagio Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas. Plenary sessions will cover the impact of Project Delivery Systems on the success or failure of a project, the impact of litigation strategy and procedures in multi-party construction claims, a critical look at Construction Management As Agent and Construction Management At Risk, Design-Build and whether we have perfected it, or do we have a ways to go, a diversity program focused on an update on the status and operation of federal contracting programs for small, minority and women owned businesses, integrated project delivery and 21st Century ethics issues for construction lawyers. Workshops will focus on issues such as letters of credit versus bonding, contracting in the public sector, the impact of collaborated Project Delivery Systems on disputes and dispute resolution procedures, contract provisions, contracting across borders, BIM, and the impact of Project Delivery Systems on the roles of subcontractors, design professionals, owners and lenders.
In addition to all of the CLE above, we will have a great welcome reception located on the Grand Patio of the Hotel, Division breakfasts, the annual Young Lawyers Section Service Project, a Diversity Group Reception, Women Attendees Networking Breakfast, an orientation breakfast for those new to the Forum or returning after five years away and of course, golf.
By the way, have we told you it is in Las Vegas? Whether it's gambling, shows, some of the best shopping anywhere, day trips to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, or just walking the strip and people watching, there is so much to do in Las Vegas.
So as Frank said to Dean and Sammy in the (original) Rat Pack: “Who wouldn’t want to go to the Forum’s Annual Meeting; it is where you can do everything.”
See you in Las Vegas and as they say, “Viva Las Vegas.”
