The newly elected vice chair-SBA had a unique tagline as he was running for his position: “Win with Guinn.” And win he did. Nick Guinn, a 3L at St. Mary’s University School of Law, has wanted to be a lawyer since he was a young boy. He has been involved in the ABA since his first year in law school. His interest grew at the ABA Annual Meeting last year in Toronto and after meeting his predecessor, Michelle Philo. He is the current SBA president at his school and has many goals as the Law Student Division’s vice chair-SBA.
Guinn would like to make the Law Student Division website more user friendly and allow students better access to find what they need. “I plan to be a conduit of information between the Law Student Division and SBAs,” he says. “I would also help to continue to push for greater diversity and acceptance.”
He prides himself on “bringing the energy” to the team whether it be officers, governors, representatives, or SBA presidents. Guinn says he wants to get people excited about the ABA.
He wants to streamline the information so students can receive it successfully. Guinn encourages effective communication within the Law Student Division as a whole. He wants to focus resources for the SBA presidents and wants to get the most he can out of his position by doing his job effectively.
