Law Student Division Leaders Wanted

Project & National Student Directors

Five students are appointed to administer the Law Student Division’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Arbitration Competition, Client Counseling Competition, Negotiation Competition, and National Appellate Advocacy Competition.

Two students are appointed to coordinate and administer the Division’s Law Student Mental Health Initiative and Veterans Advocacy Initiative.

Applications are available at www.abanet.org/lsd/elections and must be postmarked by February 15, using an overnight mail service.* Circuit governors will interview applicants within their circuits by telephone. The VITA national student director and project director one-year terms begin at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in August. The competition national student director one-year terms begin June 1, 2011.

 

Liaisons

The chair of the Law Student Division appoints a student liaison to most of the ABA’s 60-plus specialty sections, divisions, forums, committees, and commissions. Liaisons are responsible for communicating the activities of their assigned group to the Division and conveying the needs of law students to their group.

Applications must be postmarked by February 15, using an overnight mail service.* Circuit governors will interview applicants within their circuits by telephone. Liaisons begin their one-year terms at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in August.
