Section Staff Hires Marketing and Technology Specialists
Amy Mandel recently joined the Section as Membership, Marketing and Communications Manager. In this position, she will primarily supervise and coordinate activities to market all Section programs, products and services, including membership development, publications, periodicals, CLE programs and related materials and sponsorships.
Amy was Communications/
Special Projects Director for the Trade Show Exhibitors Association and Client Service Coordinator for Baker & McKenzie. She served also as the Public Relations Officer of Tetra Pak Inc., an international “drink box” company and as an independent consultant promoting the work of eight French artists.
Amy attended Northwestern University Graduate School, where she was a teaching assistant in Art History, and received her BA in Art History from the University of Michigan. She can be reached at 312-988-6264 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
Carlos Vivanco recently joined the Section as Technology Analyst. In this position, he will provide primary technological support to the Section, managing the technological aspects of all Section operations and ensuring that the Section's activities and member benefits are fully communicated through the Section website, e-mail and other emerging electronic media.
Carlos comes to the ABA from the architectural firm of Mayer Jeffers Gillespie, where he served as the information technology and business manager. Prior to this he was with the architectural firm of Skidmore Owings & Merrill, where he provided support in Unix operations, website development, and Windows applications.

Nominating Committee Welcomes Suggestions
The Nominating Committee, which Section Chair E. Anthony Figg recently appointed, welcomes suggestions of members for nominees for the offices of Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, Secretary, Financial Officer, Section Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates and four new members of Council for four-year terms expiring in 2010. Under the Section Bylaws, Susan Barbieri Montgomery, current Chair-Elect, will automatically assume the office of Section Chair on September 1, 2006.
The nominees will be voted on at the Section’s business meeting, Saturday, August 5, 2006, during the ABA Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.
