On-line Redbook

In October 1999, ABA Executive Director Robert A. Stein announced the availability of the ABA Directory (Redbook) on-line. The Redbook is a directory of individuals in leadership positions within the ABA and related organizations. This on-line version of the Redbook is available for read-only viewing to ABA members and staff. The on-line Redbook includes the following features:

  • Flexible search capabilities, including geographical and alphabetical.
  • E-mail hyperlinks to facilitate immediate communication directly from the Redbook on-line.
  • A link to a change of address form on the introduction page.
  • A link on the introduction page to Redbook staff liaisons, whom members can contact regarding updates to appointments listed in the Redbook.
  • Data displayed from the membership/committee database so that changes and additions are available on-line.

The on-line Redbook is available through the ABA Member Only Area on the home page. An ABA member must have his or her ABA Constit ID and password to access this information. To view the on-line Redbook from the ABA homepage, click on "ABA Members" and then click on the Redbook on-line link under the section "About the ABA."

On-line Section Directories

In addition to the on-line version of the Redbook, the ABA has begun work on an on-line section directory project, designed to provide ABA members and employees with the ability to view section directories on the Internet. At present the directories exist in the form of about 35 printed books. Additional information on this project will appear in a future issue of Probate & Property.
