To recognize the many lawyers who devote their time, energy and expertise to help individuals and non-profit organizations in their communities, the ABA Journal — at the request of ABA leadership — recently created a special section showcasing lawyers’ public service efforts. "Lawyers Giving Back" is a four-page photo spread designed to spotlight the profession's commitment to pro bono service.
There is no better place to feature these often unsung heroes than in the flagship publication of the largest voluntary professional association in the world, read by half the nation's one million lawyers every month. Here's a link to this new feature: http://www.abajournal.com/magazine/article/lawyers_giving_back1/
We invite you to send us action photographs of your colleagues serving their communities through pro bono and other public service activities so they can be considered for future issues.
Please e-mail your "Lawyers Giving Back" submissions to Julie Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include your name, and those of the lawyer(s) involved, a short description of the service or project, where it takes place and a photo credit/the name of the person taking the photo.
Send JPG files at least 3 megabytes in size and at least 4x6 inches when viewed at 300 dpi.
Volunteering is an essential part of American culture. It plays a significant role in defining who we are as a nation, and who we are as lawyers. We look forward to hearing from you.
