The LPM Section prides itself on the countless benefits it offers legal professionals, and we are especially proud of the resources we offer to those in solo and small firms.
Many solo and small firm members of the ABA choose to partner with the LPM Section because of the incomparable expertise we offer in these four core areas: marketing, management, technology and finance. Our publications-—including this issue of Law Practice magazine—regularly feature invaluable content dedicated to providing relevant and useful information for solo and small firm professionals. Plus, many members find that the advice obtained from the LPM Section can be used immediately in their practices.
The LPM Section’s monthly electronic publication Law Practice Today ( www.lawpracticetoday.com) also dedicated an edition to the issues affecting solo and small firm practitioners, and many of our books provide how-to information on everything from starting and building a law practice to effectively using social media. CLE conferences like ABA TECHSHOW® provide an entire track of educational sessions designed specifically for solo and small firms. LPM has a resource for just about all things solo and small firm! Be sure to visit www.lawpractice.org/solo for a one-stop shop of our most popular solo and small firm resources.
Ethics in Practice. One of the many ways the LPM Section helps solo and small firm lawyers is by closely monitoring the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20’s decisions. The Commission is charged with providing a thorough review of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct in the context of advances in technology and global legal practice development. Its recommendations will likely have a profound impact on how legal professionals engage in business and client communications. The Section’s leadership is actively engaged in this process and is fully committed to ensuring that the best interests of LPM members, and the entire legal profession, are being considered. You can count on LPM to provide you with the latest information about the Commission’s work and to champion for your success.
What Can We Do to Better Serve You? The LPM Section’s success depends entirely on the prosperity of members like you. All of us, from our volunteer leadership to staff, are here to help you become a better legal professional. We want to hear from you if there is anything we can do to help you reach your goals. We are thrilled to continue to provide the best possible service to you, and we look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.
