LPM Annual Meeting is a success. LPM programs were a great success at the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco in August. In addition to five well-received CLE programs and a presence at the ABA Expo, the Section sponsored several receptions, including the annual Sam Smith Award reception, at which the Sam Smith Award was bestowed on longtime ABA leader Jay Foonberg. The Sam Smith Award was established in 1999 and recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding lifetime achievement in the field of law practice management. Foonberg has received several awards from the ABA for his accomplishments throughout the years and is the ABA’s all-time best-selling author with books like How to Start and Build a Law Practice. Also at the LPM Annual Meeting, the Section voted to update its bylaws to support a revised annual strategy and planning process.
