Spring Meeting, Disney Style

Bring your family to the magical world of Disney May 12-14 to experience a few days of Mickey Mouse and pixie dust while you attend the LPM Spring Meeting and CLE program. Not to worry, you will have plenty of time to spend relaxing each afternoon—this meeting is scheduled to accommodate both work and play.

Fantastic events planned for your stay! Arrive a day early to take advantage of discounted tickets to La NoubaTM by Cirque du Soleil®. With its stunning mix of daring acrobatics, whimsical clowns and live music, you’ll agree that, “To see it is unbelievable. To miss it, unthinkable.” Seats are limited, so register early. Another highlight is Friday’s luncheon, where Disney’s Ben May will give a keynote address on “Developing Relationships at Disney One Guest at a Time.” Join us and meet and mingle with your favorite Disney characters.

The meeting’s grand finale includes a three-course dinner at Epcot, culminating in an enchanting experience off the “coast of Italy,” where we will indulge in delectable desserts while watching the IllumiNations Show on our own private island—truly the best seat in the house to watch this thrilling laser show.

The LPM room block is selling out fast, so make reservations soon to get the rate we have secured. Call the BoardWalk Inn at (407) 934-3372 and mention the “American Bar Association, LPM block.” Disney’s BoardWalk Inn harkens back in time to a charming seaside village built around the fun and excitement of a waterfront entertainment district. It offers exquisitely appointed guest rooms with private courtyards and New England-style gardens.

Teleconference Series Is in Full Swing

LPM’s inaugural teleconference on Ethics and Technology in December marked the beginning of an exciting and successful new member benefit offering. Since then, additional teleconference programs have included Law Office Technology: A Critical Foundation for Success (in February) and Suddenly Solo (in March).

The next program is Just the Facts, Ma’am! The Lawyer’s Guide to Fact Finding on the Internet, April 14, 12:30-2:00 p.m. EST, based on the popular LPM book, The Lawyer’s Guide to Fact Finding on the Internet. Then on May 13, 1:45-3:45, we’ll have a special teleconference live from the Spring Meeting— Strategic Planning for Lawyers and Law Firms: Defining, Setting and Achieving Your Firm’s Goals.

ABA Midyear Meeting Recap

The LPM Section held several business meetings at this year’s ABA Midyear Meeting in Salt Lake City in February. Of particular interest, the Nominating Committee held its annual interviews for the Section’s Secretary Position. The committee will announce the 2005-06 slate of officer nominees at the LPM Section Spring Meeting in Orlando.

In addition, several LPM Section committees met to discuss the future of the Section’s member services initiative and ways to identify and track future Section leaders.
