Virtual Law Firm in a Box” for Smaller Firms

DirectLaw’s Virtual Law Firm Platform SaaS solution is a virtual law firm in a box for lawyers who want to put their practices on the Web. It is designed to enable solo practitioners and small law firms to service consumers online—and compete technologically with larger firms—by using Web-enabled automated document assembly. The DirectLaw Virtual service is licensed on a subscription basis, with pricing based on the number of automated legal document libraries selected. It comes with a secure, online administrative dashboard to manage client relationships, including e-commerce features for online credit card purchases and on-demand retrieval and review of client documents. The service includes MyLegalAffairs, a secure Web space for client communications where clients can purchase legal documents and services, interact with lawyers and receive legal advice. Clients can choose from hundreds of common legal documents, then enter their data and instantly create a document ready for their lawyer’s review. Affordable Color Printers

Xerox Corporation has introduced two new affordable office printers aimed at small and medium-sized firms. The Xerox Phaser 6128 MFP copies, scans and faxes, and prints up to 12 pages per minute in color, and 16 in black and white. In addition, access controls track costs and ensure color use is appropriately managed. Features include Scan To E-mail that sends e-mail via a wide variety of networks, and a LAN fax. For busy offices that require a single-function desktop printer, the Phaser 6280 offers up to 26 pages per minute color print speeds and a first-page-out time as fast as 10 seconds. With the capacity to hold up to 950 sheets of paper, it quickly prints documents without the need to refill paper trays as often as competitive products. In addition, it can produce graphic arts-quality marketing and sales materials. The Phaser 6128 MFP and Phaser 6280 are ENERGY STAR qualified.

New Bankruptcy Rules Library

In response to the increased demand for bankruptcy assistance, CompuLaw’s Bankruptcy Rules offers a comprehensive library of rules databases for law firms looking to add or enhance the practice of bankruptcy law.
