Bill of Rights Project and the American Enterprise Institute Co-sponsor Program on Civil Liberties and the War on Terrorism
On Dec. 17, the Section's Bill of Rights Project and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) co-sponsored a program entitled, "The Bill of Rights, the Patriot Act, and the War on Terrorism: The Year in Review." Held at the AEI's Washington, D. C., offices the program was televised by C-SPAN. Barry Sullivan, a partner in the Jenner & Block law firm and chair of the Bill of Rights Project, moderated a lively and wide-ranging discussion among Judge Michael Chertoff of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; Prof. David Cole of the Georgetown University Law Center; Elisa Massimino of the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights; Hon. Patricia Wald, former judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia; Prof. Ruth Wedgwood of John Hopkins University; and John Yoo, AEI Visiting Scholar.
