Section Welcomes New Staff
The Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities welcomes a new member to its staff. Paula Shapiro, a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where she received a degree in Political Science and Writing, is the Section's new Staff Assistant, replacing Jeff Lubbers, who was promoted to Section Administrator in January. Paula served as a Section intern in the spring and summer of 2003, working on various projects, including the Death Penalty Moratorium Implementation Project and the 2003 Thurgood Marshall Award Dinner. Prior to joining the ABA, Paula spent time at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies as a writer's intern in the Public Relations Department.
As Staff Assistant, Paula's duties will include serving as editor of the Section's newsletter, maintaining the Section's website, and serving as the initial contact for Section information and member inquiries. Paula can be reached at 202/662-1030.
