Section to Hold Spring Meeting in Washington, D. C.
The Section will hold its Spring Council Meeting on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 25 and 26, 2003, at the ABA Offices in Washington, D. C., 740 15th St, N. W., Washington D. C. The business session of the meeting will begin at 1:00 p. m. on Friday and will conclude at noon on Saturday.
Friday's activities will include Section committee meetings and a meeting of the new Task Force on Mental Illness and the Death Penalty in the morning and a special program in cooperation with The Constitution Society and The Federalist Society, entitled, "Be It Resolved: In Time of War, the Laws Should Speak With a Different Voice." Arguing for the proposition will be Timothy Flanigan, former Deputy Counsel to President George W. Bush, and arguing against the proposition will be Joseph Onek, Deputy Counsel to President Jimmy Carter. A reception will follow the program.
Section and Committee leaders in the D. C. area, particularly, are encouraged to attend.
