On 1/14/11, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on two approved information collections, CMS Survey Tool for http://www.medicare.gov/
, to help CMS to make appropriate changes to the Web sites in the future; and Medicare Self-Referral Disclosure Protocol, which provides a process for providers of services and suppliers to self-disclose actual or potential violations of Section 1877 of the Social Security Act. On 1/18/11, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced a request for public comment on an interim final rule regarding modifications of the Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) due to new scientific or technical data, and that new flood insurance premium rates will be calculated from these modified BFEs for new buildings and their contents. On 1/14/11, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), HHS, announced a request for public comment on two currently approved information collections: National Implementation of Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), which is a survey instrument and data collection methodology for measuring patients’ perceptions of their hospital experience; and Outpatient Rehabilitation Provider Cost Report utilized by Community Mental Health Centers, to ensure providers receive reimbursement for health care services rendered to Medicare beneficiaries. On 1/18/11, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Barriers to Meaningful Use in Medicaid, to allow AHRQ to synthesize knowledge regarding the barriers that eligible professionals encounter when attempting to achieve meaningful use of electronic health record (EFR) technologies and to translate that knowledge to develop technical assistance and support implementation and use of EHRs. On 1/18/11, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, HHS, announced a 3/8/11 and 3/22/11 meeting of the Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee’s Meaningful Use Workgroup via webcast, to engage in discussions regarding recommendations it should make to the HIT Policy Committee. On 1/14/11, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Disaster Technical Assistance Center Disaster Mental Health Needs Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey Supporting Statement, to provide feedback on the ongoing needs at the national, State, and local levels and identify areas in which State and local providers require enhanced TA services.
