On 1/10/11, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Tracking of Participants in the Early Head Start Research and Evaluation Project (EHSREP), to maintain up-to-date contact information for the children/families in the event that the ACF determines that a future follow-up to the EHSREP will take place. On 1/10/11, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), HHS, announced a final rule to rescind the addition and definition of voluntary advance care planning as a specified element of the annual wellness visit that was finalized in the ‘‘ Medicare Program; Payment Policies Under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Revisions to Part B for CY 2011 ’’ that appeared in the 11/29/10 Federal Register. On 1/10/11, CMS, HHS, announced a request for public comment on a revision of a currently approved information collection, CY 2012 Bid Pricing Tool (BPT) for Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans and Prescription Drug Plans (PDP), which collects data such as medical expense development (from claims data and/or manual rating), administrative expenses, profit levels, and projected plan enrollment information in order to develop the BPT, which is the basis for the plan’s enrollee premiums and CMS payments for each contract year. Presidential Action
On 1/4/11, the president signed S. 118 (P.L. 111-372) Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Act of 2010, to amend Section 202 of the Housing Act of 1959, to improve the program under such Section for supportive housing for the elderly, and for other purposes.
On 1/4/11, the president sighed S. 3036 (P.L. 111-375), the National Alzheimer's Project Act, to establish the National Alzheimer's Project.

On 1/10/11, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Health Center Controlled Networks Progress Reports, used to help HHS monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of service programs of its grantees. On 1/10/11, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Housing Discrimination Information Form, necessary for the collection of pertinent information from persons or entities who wish to file housing discrimination complaints with HUD under the Fair Housing Act of 1968. Comments are due 2/9/11. FR1449.
On 1/10/11, HUD announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Survey of Market Absorption of New Multifamily Units, used to measure the rate at which different types of new rental apartments and new condominium apartments are taken off the market over the course of the first twelve months following completion of a building. Comments are due 2/9/11. FR1448.
On 1/10/11, HUD announced its Fiscal Year 2010 awards to housing agencies for non-competitive funding awards for housing conversion actions, public housing relocations and replacements, moderate rehabilitation replacements, and HOPE VI voucher awards. FR1450.
 
Presidential Action  
On 1/4/11, the president signed S. 3243 (P.L. 111-376), the Anti-Border Corruption Act of 2010, to require U.S. Customs and Border Protection to administer polygraph examinations to all applicants for law enforcement positions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and to require U.S. Customs and Border Protection to initiate all periodic background reinvestigations of certain law enforcement personnel, and for other purposes.

On 1/10/11, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a new information collection, Program Evaluation for Assertive Adolescent & Family Treatment (AAFT) Program, a program which promotes the adoption of evidence-based practices by community providers in the area of adolescent substance use treatment. Comments are due 2/9/11. FR1446.
 
Presidential Action
On 1/4/11, the president signed S. 3447 (P.L. 111-377), the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Improvements Act of 2011, to amend Title 38, United States Code, to improve educational assistance for veterans who served in the Armed Forces after 9/11/01, and for other purposes.
