On 1/7/11, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a revision of a currently approved information collection, Pre-Existing Health Insurance Plan and Supporting Regulations, also referred to as the ‘‘ temporary high risk health insurance pool program ’’ under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, for which HHS is authorized to carry out through contracts with states or private, non-profit entities to provide health insurance coverage to currently uninsured individuals with pre existing conditions. On 1/7/11, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program: Client-Level Data Reporting System, designed to collect information from grantees, as well as their subcontracted services providers funded under the program. On 1/7/11, HHS announced a 1/27/11 – 1/28/11 meeting of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, in Washington, D.C., to discuss information, and develop recommendations to the secretary regarding programs and policies to promote effective prevention and cure of HIV disease and AIDS.
