On 9/22/10, the Administration for Children and Families, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a proposed rulemaking to amend Head Start Program regulations to implement statutory provisions of the Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007 for establishing a system of designation renewal to determine if Heat Start Programs are meeting the educational, health, nutritional, and social needs of children and families they serve while meeting program requirements and standards.
