On 3/8/10, the Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for applications for the Negotiation Cooperative Agreement, which provides resources to tribes interested in participating in the Tribal Self-Governance Program (TSGP). The Negotiation Cooperative Agreement provides tribes with funds to help cover the expenses involved in preparing for and negotiating compacts and funding agreements with IHS. On 3/8/10, IHS, HHS, announced a request for applications for the Planning Cooperative Agreement, which enables tribes interested in participating in TSGP to gather information on the current types of funding available at the service unit, area, and headquarters levels as well as to determine the organizational preparation related to the administration of health programs.
