On 6/9/10, the House agreed to a motion to disagree to the Senate amendments and agree to a conference on HR 4173, to provide for financial regulatory reform, to protect consumers and investors, to enhance federal understanding of insurance issues, and to regulate the over-the-counter derivatives markets. The House conferees for HR 4173 were also appointed.

On 6/10/10, the Social Security Administration announced a final rule revising the threshold billing amount that triggers annual on-site reviews of medical providers who conduct consultative examinations for disability programs under Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. The final rule becomes effective 7/12/10. FR 32845
On 6/10/10, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a new project, the Cross-Community Evaluation of the Native Aspirations Project, which will examine community-specific activities and cross-community process and impact indicators such as community-level knowledge and awareness of suicide, violence, bullying, and substance abuse; pro-social and help-seeking behaviors among native youth, and the provision of services specific to native youth through existing service systems. On 6/9/10, the Senate reached a unanimous-consent agreement providing that on Thursday, 6/10/10, the Senate begin consideration of the motion to proceed to consideration of SJ Res 26, disapproving a rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to the endangerment finding and the cause or contribute findings for greenhouse gases under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act.
On 6/9/10, the House passed, by a 369-44 vote, H Res 1330, to recognize 6/8/10 as World Ocean Day.
On 6/10/10, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), HHS, announced a publication containing modifications that the agency is making to the list of standards that FDA recognizes in use in premarket reviews of medical devices. This publication will assist manufacturers who elect to declare conformity with consensus standards to meet certain requirements for medical devices. Comments are accepted at any time. FR 32943

On 6/9/10, the Senate passed S 3473, to amend the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 to authorize advances from the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
