On 7/14/10, the Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies, House Appropriations Committee, approved the fiscal year 2011 Military Construction and Department of Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill.

On 7/14/10, the Senate received notification of withdrawal of the nomination of Sue E. Myerscough, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of Illinois, which was sent to the Senate on 6/17/10.

On 7/15/10, the United States Sentencing Commission announced a request for public comment on whether a proposed amendment to the federal sentencing guidelines and official commentary should be included in Subsection (c) of Section 1B1.10 (Reduction in Term of Imprisonment as a Result of Amended Guideline Range {Policy Statement}) as an amendment that may be applied retroactively to previously sentenced defendants. On 7/15/10, the Social Security Administration (SSA) announced a request for public comment on an interim rule modifying SSA regulations to clarify and revise what is considered a “life-changing event” for the Medicare Part B income-related monthly adjustment amount, and what evidence SSA requires to support a claim of a major life-changing event.
