On 1/28/10, the Social Security Administration (SSA) announced a request for public comment on a submitted information collection, the Centenarian Project Development Worksheets, which SSA uses in conducting interviews with centenary beneficiaries age 103 and older to assess if the beneficiaries are still living, to prevent fraud through either identity misrepresentation or representative payee misuse of funds, and to assess the well-being of the beneficiaries. On 1/28/10, the Health Resources and Services Administration, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a final rule revising existing regulations under the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986, which governs the National Practitioner Data Bank for Adverse Information on Physicians and Other Health Care Practitioners, to incorporate statutory requirements under Section 1921 of the Social Security Act, as amended by the Medicare and Medicaid Patient and Program Protection Act and the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.
